Why support Ontario’s heritage
Help bring our heritage to life.
The Ontario Heritage Trust works tirelessly to protect cultural and natural heritage — connecting people with the places, landscapes and stories that keep our communities healthy and diverse. By exploring and testing innovative conservation solutions, the Trust serves as a vital hub, encouraging public dialogue and action on heritage in Ontario and beyond.
The Trust needs the support of all your voices to ensure that our stories are known, preserved and shared. To do this well, on behalf of the people of Ontario — past, present and future — investments must be made now, investments that will allow us, on your behalf, to:
- acquire and protect important places and spaces
- restore, refurbish and reopen those sites so that all can have access to them
- research and expand our understanding of the important impact of each of the diverse peoples that enrich our communities
- create opportunities to learn, experience and share with each other
As an agency of the Government of Ontario, the Ontario Heritage Trust receives approximately 30 per cent of its annual funding from the provincial budget. The remaining 70 per cent of revenue must be generated annually.
Our challenge is one of limited resources, both human and financial, that make it difficult and sometimes not possible to meet the demands of competing and ever-fluctuating priorities — priorities that need attention and action, all of which are important, and some of which cannot be predicted or planned.
Give as generously as you can. Every dollar counts.
