Part of Toronto’s vibrant arts and culture scene, the Elgin & Winter Garden Theatres comprise a fully restored, historical theatre complex with two distinct theatres: the Elgin (1,538 seats) and the Winter Garden (982 seats). Both venues operate as rental facilities for theatre, comedy, musicals, concerts, film screenings, lectures and more.

With six lobbies and two large rehearsal studios, the Elgin & Winter Garden Theatres have spaces to suit all your needs.

Studio rentals

The Elgin & Winter Garden Theatres provide two full-sized studios available for rental for a variety of uses — rehearsals, auditions, theatrical workshops, press conferences, meetings, etc. Studio A also contains a ceiling grid to accommodate theatrical lighting.

Rehearsal studios A and B

Size of each rehearsal studio:

• 53 feet 9 inches (16.4 m) x 49 feet 9 inches (15.2 m) x 12 feet 5 inches (3.8 m)
• south wall has 37-foot x 8-foot (11.3-m x 2.4-m) mirrors with ballet bar

Floor surface:

• black Battleship linoleum on sprung plywood underlay

Facilities:

• two two-person dressing rooms with sink, washroom and shower – one located off the studio, the other off the lobby on the same floor
• kitchen area with sink, refrigerator and storage cupboards
• two washrooms

Studio equipment:

• one upright Yamaha UIPE piano tuned to A440 (additional tunings at the Licensee's expense, conducted by the Theatre's tuners)
• 50 chairs, eight folding tables
• black curtains to cover any two walls of the studio
